Background
9dcc wanted to explore minting generative art, then printing 1/1/X pieces directly onto t-shirts that would be connected with NFC chips. The goal was to launch the project through an IRL activation during Miami Art Basel in December 2022, followed by a virtual sales event.
Custom solution
Engine delivered the use of a minting app to support live events and sales of generative art to in-person collectors, and produce physical items on-demand that correspond to a collector’s unique one-of-a-kind piece. The project sold over 1,200 editions over the course of five days.
- Deployed generative art smart contracts owned by 9dcc that would support the IRL minting, with customization for NFC chip technology into the NFT.
- In-person minters purchased, minted to their wallet, and received their physical item in the same location.
ITERATION-02 by 9dcc and Snowfro
ITERATION-02 is a collaboration between 9dcc and Snowfro celebrating generative art creation on-chain and then translates that to a generative garment. The iconic Chromie Squiggle was remixed with 9dcc’s visual identity as a collection of randomly generated NFTs. Each holder received a unique 1 of 1 physical 9dcc tee featuring their newly minted NFT printed directly on the garment.
